In the Western Conference Finals of the previous season, the Edmonton Oilers had an impressive run, which many people referred to as a "Cinderella" run. Nonetheless, the team's captain, Connor McDavid, is determined to demonstrate that their achievement was not a fluke. McDavid entered the 2022-23 season with an incredible performance, annihilating his opponents with 64 goals and 89 assists, putting him in God mode.
McDavid matched Wayne Gretzky, the Great One, with a total of 75 games in which he earned at least one point this season. Additionally, McDavid won multiple awards, including his fifth Art Ross Trophy and his first Rocket Richard Trophy, which he added to his trophy case.
Although McDavid is pleased with his personal accomplishments, his ultimate goal is to win the Stanley Cup. If he can maintain his dominant playoff performance from the regular season, the Oilers have a good chance of winning. Despite the numerous personal accolades, McDavid's focus remains on the team's ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup.
