Its no secret that Connor McDavid is the best modern day hockey player of our era. In Bob's tweet, we can clearly see that Connor McDavid places 1st in virtually every offensive statistical category.
To make matters even more impressive, Connor McDavid was able to achieve career milestones during the 2023-24 season, where he got off to the arguably worst start of his NHL career.
As per Zach Laing from Oilers Nation, McDavid's 2023-24 campaign continued to build on his previous career sucess, scoring 32 goals, 100 assists and 132 points in 76 games. He got off to a sluggish start through his first 11 games, scoring a point per game which was still half of what his previous three years saw him produce. He attributed it to overtraining last off-season, a regiment he changed around this summer.
The McDavid we witnessed in the playoffs last year was out of this world. Without a shadow of doubt, he carried the Oilers on his back all the way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup final, surpassing the great one's post season scoring record.
Connor McDavid recently disclosed in an interview with Mark Spector that he switched up his offseason training regiment. With that being said, fans can anticipate McDavid coming out guns blazing come puck drop in October.
