Former Oiler and Boston Bruin Milan Lucic has been a focal point for the league this offseason. He's been disgraced due to domestic assault charges by his wife, Brittany Lucic, in addition to a restraining order subsequent to the divorce proceedings.
With that being said, Milan is looking to get back into the NHL after being discharged by the Boston Bruins. Video footage was leaked a few weeks ago that showed Milan Lucic doing some off-ice training in New Jersey, prompting rumours of a potential PTO with the Devils.
Although Bob Stauffer made claims about Lucic's PTO on his 630 CHED radio show, New Jersey Hockey Now reporter James Nichols denied Stauffer's reports, setting the story strait.
Bob Stauffer severely dropped dropped the ball on his reporting. If Lucic were to be reinstated to an NHL team, it would need to be approved by the commissioner. As it stands, Lucic is still in the NHLPA's players assistance program and has not been signed to a PTO with the Devils.
