Connor McDavid admits to being "loyal" to the oil
In a recent interview, Connor McDavid admits that his loyalty to Edmonton is a huge factor regarding his future contract consideration.
According to NHL's Mike Zeisberger, Connor McDavid broke into a wry grin when asked if the recent megacontract signed by his pal and teammate Leon Draisaitl might affect his own long-term future with the Edmonton Oilers.
Its also no secret that his best friend on the team, Leon Draisaitl recently inked an 8 year $14 MM AAV contract extension with the Oilers. Further reports indicate that Leon also purchased a home next door to McDavid, hinting that the pair wish to remain together for years to come.
Although McDavid tends to give bleak responses pertaining to matters concerning his future contract, its clear where is overall mind-frame is at. McDavid is the captain of the team, and is dearly loved in the City of Champions.
Making his way to the Stanley Cup Final last season, it's clear that McDavid will find the most success playing alongside Leon in the Canadian Prairies. As it stands, McDavid is loyal to the Oil.
