Amazon will be releasing their highly anticipated documentary Faceoff: Inside the NHL on Friday, and the reviews are getting fans fired up.
ESPN reporter Greg Wyshynski, who has been known to be quite critical of the Oilers superstars has already watched a few episodes of the show. According to Wyshynski, the documentary has an HBO feel to it - emphasizing just how amazing the experience is. He also reports that fans will never McDavid in the same way again...
Now this is a highly intriguing statement form ESPN reporter Greg Wyshynski. Oilers fans are well versed regarding the scrutiny McDavid has taken the last few years concerning his leadership ability. McDavid is known to be bland with the media, and has been criticized for not showing enough emotion. Well, thats all going to change on Friday according to ESPN.
As per Liam McCormick from Oilers Daily, In a trailer released for the show, Connor McDavid was seen screaming in the locker room and demanding more from the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. The Oilers had just lost game 2, and McDavid was desperately trying to get more out of his teammates. Fans only ever see McDavid as a shy and reserved person, so to see this leadership side of him is incredible.
The series comes out just in time for fans to watch before the Oilers regular season begins at home against the Winnipeg Jets on October 9th. The Oilers will play just two more preseason games before another long quest for the Stanley Cup begins
