Jack Micheals, a beloved hockey broadcaster for the Edmonton Oilers jumped on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast to discuss his emergence as an NHL commentator. Micheals started to make a name for himself during his earlier years on 630 CHED AM, but has rapidly climbed the ranks and now finds himself broadcasting games on the national stage.
Micheals spoke to Ryan Whitney about earning his stripes:
Many Oilers enthusiasts will remember when Jack Micheals got his well earned promotion to broadcast hockey games on Sportsnet. Although he did a great job his first few seasons on TV, he wasn't the rambunctious personality fans remembered on the radio.
After a few seasons of earning his stripes, he settled in to the job, and the old Jack Micheals fans loved to hear on the radio slowly started to come out on television.
I think its safe to say that Jack Micheals has become an NHL favourite on television. He provides fans an electrifying experience that makes hockey games far more compelling to watch. Oilers fans are hoping that Micheals will have more opportunities to call playoff games as his career continues to flourish.
