The 14 year NHL veteran was once considered the top scorer on the Buffalo Sabres. After being bought out from the team, he has landed a golden opportunity - a fresh start on a Stanley Cup contending team.
In a recent interview, Skinner opened up on his ambitions heading into the highly anticipated 2024-25 NHL season.
Jeff Skinner has played in 1,006 NHL regular-season games. He has scored 357 goals, including a 40-goal season. He has 313 assists, topped 60 points five times, including an 82-point season.
But in 14 NHL seasons, he has yet to feel the intensity of a Stanley Cup Playoff game. He hopes signing with the Edmonton Oilers this offseason changes all that.
Jeff Skinner has been projected to play alongside Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson on the Oilers dynamic second line. Playing alongside a player like Leon Draisaitl could redefine Skinner's career in the NHL.
