There were heavy rumours circulating the past few weeks about Tyson Barrie getting a shot with the Flames, and now the announcement has been made official.
Tyson Barrie is trying to revive his career after struggling to gain traction with the Nashville Predators. Hockey analysts still believe that Tyson Barrie has some upside left to his game, but wasn't the right fit in Nashville. He spent 2023-24 season with the Nashville Predators and played 41 games scoring a mere goal and 14 assists.
The Calgary Flames, who are in the middle of a rebuild will be looking to see what Barrie has to offer heading into training camp. According to sources, he will likely make the team and Barrie has a prime opportunity to keep his NHL career alive in the Canadian Prairies.
According to Nick Horwat of SI, Calgary almost has a complete defensive roster, but it's not out of the question that Barrie can come in and steal a depth role. As a solid puck mover who shoots right, the Flames have a great option to enter the lineup if he impresses at camp.
