Residents of Fort Mac...get your beers ready as the Oilers old boys are set to play a charity game against the Vancouver alumni on October 5th, 2024
According to CTV's Alex Antoneshyn, Former Edmonton Oiler Craig MacTavish will be returning to the ice for a charity game against Vancouver Canucks alumni in Fort McMurray in October.
The Oct. 5 match, as well as a meet-and-greet the day before, has been organized by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Fort McMurray Oil Barons for the Every Kid Deserves a Shot(opens in a new tab) initiative, which aims to remove barriers to youth sports.
It's not everyday NHL alumni players get up to Fort McMurray, let alone for a game. The charity alumni event should be an absolute blasts for kids and all the local residents in the community.
