As per Zach Laing from Oilers Nation, The Edmonton Oilers have made more roster cuts, trimming five players from their group and placing four on waivers.
Forward Lane Pederson will join defenceman Ben Gleason and Phil Kemp, as well as goaltender Collin Delia, on waivers, according to Oilersnation's Jason Gregor, while forward James Hamblin was assigned to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors. Should the four clear, they'll join the Condors, as well.
Among the most notable roster cuts is James Hambin, who has made a name for himself over the past two seasons but hasn't been able to cement a full time job on the team yet. The Oilers can breathe a huge sigh of relief has Hamblin is avoiding the waiver wire and won't be up for grabs upon his return to the AHL. Hamblin rose to prominence last year, scoring an emotional goal where he dedicated it to his late mother.
Ben Gleason has also deserved some attention as a runner up, he had a strong performance against the Vancouver Canucks, notching an impressive goal.
The Oilers have two pre-season games remaining, taking on the Seattle Kraken on the road Wednesday, and the Canucks again Friday. Their regular season schedule kicks off on Wednesday, Oct. 9th when they host the Winnipeg Jets.
