As per Daily Hive, Raphael Lavoie took to the ice at Rogers Place this morning, skating with a group made up of mostly AHL and junior players. Yet, not long after taking to the ice, the 23-year-old Lavoie left abruptly and did not come back.
Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed after practice that Lavoie has been sidelined with a lower-body injury.
Raphael Lavoie is considered to be one of the top prospects on the Edmonton Oilers. He's been performing extremely well for the team during the preseason so far, tallying an impressive one-timer during the Oilers game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Lavoie was meant to be dressing for the game tomorrow for the Oilers 3rd preseason game against the Jets, but has been scratched and will be sidelined to undergo some treatment.
As it stands, Lavoie is set to return to the ice on Friday, but Oilers Insider will be keeping close tabs on Lavoie to see if his timelines are further extended. Hopefully he's back sooner than later. Evander Kane has been reported to be out for 4-6 months, so the Oilers will be in serious need of Lavoie's help moving forward.
