These reports are coming out of Sirius XM's The Power Play show, who just dropped a bombshell which will undoubtedly have Habs fans in tears.
As per Liam McCormick form Oilers Daily, In the Habs' last preseason game against the Maple Leafs, Patrik Laine sustained a scary lower body injury after a knee on knee collision with Cedric Pare. Laine was then seen leaving the Bell Center on crutches that night.
Despite taking a nasty hit, Patrik Laine was recently seen at Habs practice cheering on his teammates from the sidelines.
Cameras even got a close up view of Laine departing the bench, getting a look at how he was walking. He seemed to be wearing a brace on his left knee and clearly needed the support of crutches to walk, but he is getting around on his own.
The controversial hit by Pare sent Montreal Canadiens enforcer Arber Xhekaj into a frenzy, taking matters into his own hands by laying a beatdown on the disgraced Toronto player.
Patrik Laine, who just recently completed a stint the NHLPA's players assistance program was looking to make an impact for the Habs this season. Laine has been known to be susceptible to injury, and last night's game is a huge set back for the Finnish superstar.
It looks like the Habs will be pulling out the Ol' LTIR on Patrik Laine, who is rumoured to be out until at least January/February.
