Despite falling short in their bid for the Stanley Cup last season, the Edmonton Oilers are poised to make another run for the championship this year.

The Oilers ended the regular season on a high note, with a victory over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. However, one significant milestone was overlooked in the game: Oilers forward Derek Ryan played in his 500th career game, a remarkable accomplishment. Ryan has been a hidden gem on the Oilers' bottom six this season, adding some much-needed offense with 13 goals and seven assists in 80 games.
