After a hard-fought season, the Oilers have earned a well-deserved break after securing a playoff spot with home-ice advantage. Today, they practiced at the downtown community arena in Rogers Place, and Oilers forward Evander Kane shared his thoughts on where the team stands and his feelings about the upcoming playoffs:
During the questioning, Kane acknowledged that this feels like a full reset for him, as he suffered a gruesome wrist injury early in the season that kept him out for several months. Although his season did not turn out as he had hoped, with only 16 goals, 12 assists, and a -4 rating in 41 games, he remains optimistic.
Last year, after being traded from the San Jose Sharks, Kane was a force with the Oilers and helped lead them to a fantastic playoff run. He scored 13 goals, had four assists, and was a +2 with 37 penalty minutes in 15 games.
