The Toronto Maple Leafs were hoping for a fresh start at the beginning of this season and a chance to break their 19-year playoff drought. General manager Kyle Dubas made some astute trades at the deadline to strengthen the team for the playoffs.

Over the weekend, those trades paid off as the Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games. Dubas and special assistant Jason Spezza were seen celebrating the victory repeatedly on the news. However, assistant general manager Brandon Pridham did not appear to share their level of excitement.

It was later revealed that Pridham had been involved in a car accident just before Game 6 and had dislocated his shoulder. Johnson reported that Pridham was doing okay and was expected to make a full recovery.

Despite their previous success, the Maple Leafs lost 4-2 to the Florida Panthers in their second-round playoff opener.
