Johnny and his brother Matthew were struck by a vehicle near their home in Salem County, New Jersey, on Thursday night. Unfortunately, both Johnny and Matthew passed away as a result of the accident.
During an interview today, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid opened up about his passing, and his personal thoughts about the tragedy that recently happened.
Gaudreau played his first nine seasons with the Calgary Flames, going head-to-head against McDavid 34 times in the Battle of Alberta. The teams also faced off in the Western Conference Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2022, Edmonton winning in five games.
Oilers Insider would like to send their continued sympathies to the Gaudreau family.
