According to Matheson, The Edmonton Oilers have added Zack Kassian to their staff. Kassian will be serving as a pro scout for the team. The former Oilers forward currently resides in Ontario.
Although the details of his hire remain unclear, Zack Kassian will be part of the Oilers organization by helping seek out the next generation of hockey talent. Currently residing in Ontario, the speculation is he will be serving as a CHL scout, primarily in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League). But more details will be provided as soon as possible.
According to Mark Spector, Kassian will be working in Windsor alongside prominent pro scout Warren Rychel to learn all the tricks of the trade.
Kassian was originally the 13th overall selection in the 2009 National Hockey Leaguedraft to the Buffalo Sabres, where he would spend 27 games in 2011-12, scoring three goals and seven points before being traded to the Canucks.
