The Sens Officially First Canadian Team Eliminated From Playoff Contention
According to Pierre Dorion, General Manager of the Ottawa Senators, the rebuilding phase is over, and it's time for the team to compete for a playoff spot. Dorion made a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks to acquire Alex DeBrincat and also signed Claude Giroux as a free agent. Despite a decent 37-35-7 record this season, the Senators couldn't make it to the playoffs and finished sixth in the Atlantic Division. Their hopes of making the playoffs ended after a 7-2 defeat against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.
The Senators and their fans have a long and tough summer ahead, but with some minor changes and a strong number one goaltender, the team could certainly become a playoff contender next season.POLL | ||
