In a previous article, I mentioned that Oilers Head Coach Jay Woodcroft achieved a significant milestone, becoming the second-most winning coach after 100 games since taking over earlier in 2022. Woodcroft also made a classy move by acknowledging defenseman Jason Demers' 700-game milestone and ensuring that he was dressed for the occasion, allowing him to achieve this landmark statistic.
Demers, who is 34 years old, has played for five NHL organizations and has now surpassed the 700-game mark. He has amassed 45 goals, 169 assists, and 214 points, holding an overall +30 and 407 penalty minutes. Whether or not the Oilers utilize him during their playoff run remains to be seen, but for now, this achievement is a noteworthy accomplishment for a player in the latter stages of his career.
