Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be celebrating the LGBTQ+ community alongside several other teams during their annual Pride Night game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. Unlike some other teams, however, the Maple Leafs will not be wearing special Pride-themed jerseys during their warm-up and will instead be sticking to their usual attire.
Despite this, the team will still be demonstrating their support by donning distinctive helmet decals throughout the game and broadcasting messages promoting the LGBTQ+ community on the arena video screen during stoppages in play. The Maple Leafs have been actively participating in Pride Night celebrations since 2017, and this year, both head coach Sheldon Keefe and defenseman Morgan Rielly showed their support by wearing rainbow-themed t-shirts during media availability in the morning.
