Logan Thompson, the starting goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights, has had an outstanding season, particularly during the playoffs, helping to secure the team's spot. Thompson has played for the Knights for two seasons and has given the team strong performances on a nightly basis.

Throughout the 2022-2023 season, Thompson played in 37 games, recording a 21-13-3 record, a 2.65 GAA, and a .915 SV percentage. However, on February 9th, 2023, he sustained a significant injury while playing against the Minnesota Wild, as reported in this tweet:

Recently, Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy announced that Thompson is still a long way from returning to the lineup, as the team prepares to face the Oilers in the second round of the playoffs. This tweet provides the update: https://twitter.com/SinBinVegas/status/1650866092338716676?s=20

This news could be beneficial to the Oilers, as the Golden Knights have been relying on backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit for most of the first round. In case Brossoit fails, Vegas also acquired former Los Angeles starter Jonathan Quick as a backup option.

The second round series between the Golden Knights and the Oilers begins on Wednesday, May 3rd, with game time set for 9:30 PM.
