Vancouver, Canada - In a move that is sure to excite Canadian hockey fans, Ethan Bear has been named to the national team roster for the 2023 IIHF World Championships. The former Edmonton Oilers defenseman has been a standout player in the NHL, playing for three different organizations over the course of his young career.

Bear's time with the Oilers saw him record his highest point total, with 21 points in the 2019-2020 season. He was later traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, where he spent a brief stint before moving on to his current team, the Vancouver Canucks.

In his first season with the Canucks, Bear tallied 16 points, though his overall production was somewhat limited. As a restricted free agent with arbitration rights, he will be looking to make a splash in the coming offseason.

But before that, Bear will be focused on helping Team Canada succeed at the upcoming World Championships. The tournament will be held from May 12th through 18th, with games taking place in both Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia.

Fans will undoubtedly be eager to see what Bear can bring to the table for his national team. With his solid defensive play and ability to generate offense, he could prove to be a key player in Canada's quest for a championship win.
