NHL Scheduling Set to Screw Over The Edmonton Oilers and Fans Aren't Happy

This NHL season has been unusual in terms of scheduling, with many teams playing at odd times during the weekends or having long stretches without games during the week. This trend has continued into the playoffs, with some teams having two to three-day breaks between critical games, such as elimination games. While it is difficult to predict when a series will finish, in the past, teams would usually have a one-day break between games.

The pandemic has further complicated scheduling, as many teams share their buildings with other league teams or event organizers. Building owners are trying to maximize the number of events, leading to a jam-packed schedule.

The Oilers beat the Kings in game five, earning a long break before game six on Saturday, April 29th. However, the schedule for the game has not been announced yet. The Oilers lead the series 3-2, and it remains to be seen how the extended break will affect their momentum.
