Following their elimination by the Dallas Stars, all eyes have turned to the veteran goaltender of the Minnesota Wild, Marc-Andre Fleury. At 38 years old and with a contract for next season, there have been murmurs about whether he might consider retirement. Fleury addressed these questions after the Wild's exit from the post-season.

Fleury made it clear that he plans to continue playing in the 2023-24 season but added that "that might be it." While the three-time Stanley Cup champion has little left to prove on the ice, his decision to continue playing is more a matter of wanting to than feeling obligated to do so.

Fleury made clear he plans to play one more year and then «that might be it.»

Whenever Fleury decides to retire, he will undoubtedly be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, likely in his first year of eligibility. Alongside his wife, Veronique Larosee Fleury, and their three children, he will embark on a new journey of life.

Despite being primarily relegated to backup status during this year's playoffs, losing the starter's role to Filip Gustavsson, Fleury played in 46 games during the regular season. Despite the setback in the playoffs, Fleury remains a highly respected and accomplished goaltender who will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game.
