NHL Player Safety Proves They Don't Care About Players Safety

There are growing concerns surrounding the performance of the NHL Department of Player Safety during the playoffs, with allegations of inconsistency and reckless handling of disciplinary actions.

One example of this is the one-game suspension given to Alex Pietrangelo for slashing Leon Draisatl. Many view this punishment as lenient compared to past cases that resulted in lengthier suspensions.

As pointed out by Dejan Kovacevic, this disparity in punishments raises concerns about the inconsistency of George Parros, who heads the Department of Player Safety.

Another example is the lack of punishment for Jordan Eberle's boarding incident against Andrew Cogliano, which clearly demonstrated an intent to injure.

For the NHL Department of Player Safety to maintain credibility, they must be accountable to both the NHLPA and the fanbase. They need to address their lack of oversight and questionable decision-making, ensuring transparency and consistency in their disciplinary actions.
