The Edmonton Oilers came back home after a crazy comeback victory in LA, as Zach Hyman scored the overtime game winner to tie the series at two.

Going into Game 5 the Oilers held the momentum and ran with it, after a wild first period where 5 goals were scored. Connor McDavid obviously wasn't gonna stay quiet on even strength. McDavid had 2 beautiful assist in the win on Tuesday night.

Everyone remembers last years crazy 2-0 win in Game 7 against the Kings.
The Oilers were down in this series and the Kings had not one but two chances to take out the Oilers, but the blue and orange battled back again and shutout the Kings to advance. Let's see if the Edmonton Oilers can close out the Kings in 6 and not make the same mistakes the Kings made.

Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts Podcast, believes that the Oilers swagger and momentum carried over into the next game. From Game 4 to 5, the Kings were definitely depleted after falling apart in Game 4. "Earlier in the series, LA's depth was out playing Edmonton's depth, now it's the other way around."

The Los Angeles Kings brought in Pheonix Copley after the Oilers scored their 4th goal, this move didn't seem to stop the bleeding as Copley allowed 2 more goals. Elliotte Friedman doesn't think Copley did enough to take the net away from Korpisalo, just like how he felt Skinner didn't lose his starting role. The key to the Oilers coming out on top in this series is getting to Korpisalo early and jumping out to an early lead. Stuart Skinner was able to figure his game out after a rough Game 4 and a shaky start in Game 5.

Kevin Bieksa during the intermission expected to see both Campbell and Copley at the end of the night, but Skinner held his ground and earned the win.

Zach Hyman enjoys and excels in key moments like these, you can tell he loves playoff hockey and always has a smile on his face even if he takes a puck off of it. «You find rebounds, you score dirty goals, that's how you score in the playoffs you get a pretty goal here and there. But a lot of it is going to those tough areas and finding lose change, or I guess it hitting you in the face and it going in»

The Oilers are a tough team and know how to battle through diversity. Example: Leon Draisaitl battled through a brutal injury in last years playoffs, and now he is playing his heart out. Draisaitl was on the ice for the first 14 Oilers goals in the playoffs this series. Leon is definitely finding himself in the post season, he is 2nd in points with 10, first in goals with 6, and top 15 in assists with 4.

Now the Oilers will have 3 days of rest so unfortunately the momentum slows down, but the Oilers still have the same goal. To take the crown away from the Kings again and advance to the 2nd round. Game 6 game time is still to be determined, updates to come as the day comes closer.
