Jarome Iginla is a renowned Calgary Flames veteran who played for 20 years in the NHL, starting with the Flames and ending with the LA Kings in 2016-2017. He is highly respected in Calgary and considered the face of the team's franchise. There have been talks of him joining the front office.

However, it's not impossible for his son to be drafted by a rival city in Alberta, in the WHL.

As it turns out, Joe Iginla, Jarome's son, has been drafted by the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL. Surprising, but not unheard of.

Interestingly, Iginla was not picked by the Calgary Hitmen, who chose Mark Kosick instead, despite Iginla's impressive stats in U15 Rink Hockey, scoring 65 points in 27 games in the CSSHL.

Is there a Battle Of Alberta brewing in the Iginla household?
